Mechanical Superintendent - Tunneling / Mining

The Joseph Gallagher Group are currently looking for a Mechanical Superintendent for Major tunneling project. 

This is a long term role that has the potential to turn into a permanent position within the Group.

You will be responsible for:

• Managing a team of Tunnel fitters – working on Shafts SCL and Handworks with Various item of plant and specialist tunneling equipment. 

• Assisting and advising project management with implementing sound technical procedures and solutions to mechanical aspects of work and advise on ordering of plant and equipment. 

• Work well in coordinating along side engineering, electrical and mining teams on a day to day. 
• Oversee our processes are carried out -  Plant checks and repairs and attend ‘black hat meetings and plant forums’
• Ensure safety and availability of Plant in good working order.

To be successful for the role we will be looking for the following:

• CSCS Level 3 in construction plant maintenance and repair (or similar)
• Previous experience with Plant equipment is essential
• Supervisor qualification e.g SSSTS, SMSTS 
• Experience in a tunneling environment would be advantageous
• Able to manage staff effectively to complete work loads
