Job Description:
As a Sales Manager at SPA, you will play a pivotal role in maximizing the financial return of our products within the UK market. Your mission will include identifying supply opportunities, developing strategic sales channels, interacting with existing customers, and building a new customer base to drive the hire and sales of our extensive product range.
You will ensure accurate and up-to-date CRM system management to reflect proactive customer engagement. Additionally, you will be expected to present a monthly report detailing your customer visits, new accounts onboarded, and revenue generated.
Key Responsibilities
Market Engagement:
- Generate high-quality sales leads, identify customer requirements, acquire new customers, and nurture client relationships.
- Develop new opportunities within targeted markets and build mutually beneficial long-term relationships to achieve significant market share gains (70% new business, 30% account management).
Sales Planning and Development:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive Sales Plan utilising digital platforms, lapsed accounts, prospects, and portfolio history.
- Prepare and deliver quotes and technical presentations, attend marketing events, maintain CRM updates, and provide timely reports (e.g. sales forecasts, financials, etc.).
Receivables Management:
- Ensure timely collection of payments within agreed terms from customers.
Collaboration:
- Foster effective working relationships with internal teams including Technical Operations, Applications, Finance, and others to ensure the quality of services provided to customers.
Maximising Revenue from Hires and Sales:
- Identify and capitalise on supply opportunities across SPA's product range.
- Achieve and exceed sales and revenue targets in line with budget forecasts.
Strategic Sales Development:
- Facilitate sales channels for new customers.
- Collaborate with SPA’s Technical Director to create profitable hire and sales opportunities.
Engagement with Joseph Gallagher Group:
- Drive upselling of products to existing JGG sites.
CRM Management:
- Maintain accurate customer records to ensure seamless operations and business processes.
Monthly Reporting:
- Submit a detailed monthly report on customer visits, new accounts added, and revenue generated (both new and existing customers).
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven sales experience in the construction industry or rental business sector.
- Strong track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Contract negotiation expertise.
- Ability to build and maintain robust customer relationships.
- Market knowledge of the construction equipment and rental industry (training can be provided).
- Proven ability to achieve market share growth, revenue targets, and customer satisfaction.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Financial literacy and commercial acumen.
- Experience in remote territory management and account planning.
- Expertise in cold calling, prospecting, and business development.
- At least 3 years of successful sales experience with a strong track record.
