HR Apprentice – Level 3 CIPD
Location: Head Office based Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm
Contract: Full-time, Apprenticeship
Salary: Apprenticeship rate (dependent on age/experience)
Joseph Gallagher Limited is a leading civil engineering and construction business delivering complex projects across the UK and internationally. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic HR Apprentice to join our busy HR team and begin their career in Human Resources.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on HR experience while working towards a Level 3 CIPD qualification.
About the Role
As an HR Apprentice, you will support the HR team across a wide range of generalist HR activities, developing practical skills and knowledge in a fast-paced, operational environment. You will work closely with managers and employees, gaining exposure to employee relations, recruitment, learning & development, and HR administration.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting the employee lifecycle from onboarding to leavers
Assisting with recruitment activities, including adverts, interviews and offers
Preparing contracts, letters, and HR documentation
Maintaining accurate employee records and HR systems
Supporting absence, probation, and performance review processes
Assisting with HR projects and audits
Providing first-line HR support to employees and managers
Ensuring confidentiality and compliance with employment legislation
About You
W are looking for someone who is eager to learn and develop a long-term career in HR.
You will ideally have:
A genuine interest in Human Resources
Strong organisational and communication skills
Good attention to detail and a professional approach
Confidence using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (or willingness to work towards them)
A positive, proactive attitude and willingness to learn
No previous HR experience is required – just the right attitude and commitment.
